The Safford vs. Redding case had an outcome where no one won or lost. Both Savana Redding and Romero, the principle, were in the wrong. Savana should not have brought the contraband or pills into school, but because she claimed that her friend Marissa had the planner Romero should have questioned her friend and other students to find out exactly who brought in the things going against the school rules. Also, the strip search the Romero did to Savana was wrong because he did not call the police or her parents to get permission. She was under aged, but she did give him the right to check her backpack in which they found nothing. I feel that the principle should have gotten more evidence and the right people in administration involved to truly go about this case. It brought out many issues for students and how their fourth amendment right cannot be violated. The principle also had his government rights that protect him from getting into complete trouble, but this all could have been avoided if he had called Savana's parents or the police.
