The Safford Vs. Redding case ended in a draw. At the conclusion of the case neither side one for good reason. It was without a doubt a turning point in school policy because of the actions of both the school and the girl. Savana Redding a young 13 years of age had contraband on school property. Weapons in the school planner and the thought of narcotics to be on her person gave the school probable cause to search the girl. A well conducted search was done, until a strip search was performed by the school nurse. This is a violation of her rights and without the parents consent is unlawful. So as both parties had committed a crime there is no better way the court could have ruled the case.
