In this cartoon, a group of men are standing in a circle pointing to the guy next to them and under it says, "Who stole the people's money." I think this cartoon shows the level of back stabbing and mistrust at that time period. Those men who worked at Tammany Hall had probably not rightfully earned their position there. Most of the men got appointed to a position that may or may not have been real by Boss Tweed. This cartoon could go either way, they could either all be pointing to each others back and covering each others butt or they could have been throwing each other the bus. This article shows though that it was not fair times and that the men were not very honest. The immigrants may have thought they were being nice, but were really being used in way for there votes. The author shows this by making them look sleazy and dirty which probably represents the way they acted with people.
