How did the Declaration of Independence fail to deliver it's promises to all people?
Even with the Declaration of Independence being one of the most well known historical documents in the United State's history, it still has its flaws. The Declaration of Independence states the rights and liberties in which all men that are equal have. The only issue with this aspect is the fact that in the time period in which the Declaration of Independence was written, men were not equal. There was great discrimination between the slaves and white wealthy men and even the ordinary white man at the time. White men were superior and stood above all those who were considered to be minorities to them. Women did not even stand equal in comparison to men at the time. How could the rights and liberties stated in the Declaration of Independence be delivered to all people if people were not equal? That is where the Declaration of Independence failed to deliver it's promises.
However, regardless of the Declaration of Independence having failed to deliver it's promises to all people in the past, it is successful in delivering its promises in the modern day world. Although the document is flawed, the United States has adapted with it and has been made clear that it is crucial document with assisting in keeping order within the nation. Throughout our country there are those who still discriminate those who are different from the average white man but aside from those issues, everyone is looked at equally therefore the Declaration of Independence does deliver it's promise to all legal, equal Americans.
