In Harlem Renaissance, African Americans’ goal was to end segregation and bring equality in America. African Americans moved to North to protest against segregation. However, Jim Crow law, the KKK, and Marcus Garvey distracted them to further protest. Jim Crow law supported segregation in America. The KKK pressured the government. Additionally, Marcus Garvey insisted all the African Americans to go back to Africa.
The Civil Rights Movement took place during 1950’s because African Americans had to adjust to the city life. It was hard for them to adjust because they had been working in the fields and plantations for most of their lives and it was hard to keep up socially and work in different conditions.
