African-America, during the harlem renaissance, started to move to north to set new goals. Their main goal was to get rid of racial dicreimination and protest against racial violence. During the Harlem Renaissance, African-Americans started to spread their culture and gained more attention from white people. More Arican-American writers started to appear, and people loved their music such as Jazz and Blues. Their main goal was to remove segregation and in order to do this, Harlem Renaissance was their first step towards it. By spreading sucha culture and trying to blend in as Americans, they slowly started to gain more rights. However, the real civil rights movement has not started until end of 50s or 60s because, African-Americans were getting use to new life in America with freedom. They probably were not ready to fight against the government. They needed more time to gain White people's support after the Harlem Renaissance because, there were still a lot of hatred going on against them and African-Americans were trying to gain more sympathy from America so one day they can get rid of this segregation not just with African-Americans but also with rest of American citizens. Hence, 1960s were about the time.
