With having watched a portion of the debate for Governor between our current Governor Chris Christie and State Senator Barbara Buono, many aspects within the debate were brought to my attention. Not every government official can meet all the wants and demands that the public of a state or nation desires, therefore there are going to be flaws pointed out for each official running for office. Within Christie's term as Governor, he has both pleased and not pleased the public within the state of New Jersey. Chris Christie made cuts in education which now caused a disliking for him from those involved in education systems. Barbara Buono argues the fact that she would not have made any cuts in the education budget and would have made cuts to another subject. Even with Buono's statement that she would not have made cuts to education, she would have still made cuts to an area in which people would also not agree with. Either way, no matter what the subject or organization that is receiving the cuts, there are going to be unhappy people. Through Christie's term he has not raised our taxes which greatly pleases the public because everyone dislike having to pay their taxes and give up a portion of the money that they have earned. An issue that was also brought up in this debate was the issue over whether we should raise the minimum wage amount that employees receive. Both Chris Christie and Barbara Buono agreed upon raising New Jersey's minimum wage amount but Christie had a stance that would limit who and when and how much we would raise the minimum wage to while Buono wasn't as specific and just thought we could raise the wage with no issues. For the time that I watched the debate, it was made clear to be that Chris Christie made stronger arguments and in general, presented himself better than Barbara Buono did in this debate.
