Many people have mixed feelings about our governor Chris Christie and the cuts he has made. In this debate he talks about how he has been the first governor in 4 years that hasn't raised the taxes which is important because it shows that he lowered the property tax and he has balanced 4 budgets with having still not raised the taxes. Barbara Buono makes a good point though about how he cut the education program and that is one of the most important aspects for the students to be receiving the best education possible. Although that she says she wouldn't have cut the education system, she would have had to cut somewhere. Another issue that is important is raising minimum wage. Christie said he was for an increase, but not this exact one because he doesn't want the people to get automatic raises every year. He wants to make a compromise and still raise the minimum wage, but not affect the businesses giving raises when they aren't earned. I agree with this because the minimum wage does need to be raised because like Barbara said it is impossible to leave in New Jersey with such a small minimum wage. I think that taxes are still high and that people are affected by this living in New Jersey, but that compromises do have to be made to get exactly what we are trying to receive within our government.
