The issue from this 10 minute segment that I feel is most important to the citizens of New Jersey is the issue of minimum wage. Currently the minimum wage in New Jersey is $7.25 an hour which equates to an annual salary of $15,080. This is not a livable salary for one person and not even close to enough to support a family. A person living in New Jersey must make an average of $30,000 to support just THEMSELVES in a comfortable manner. A salary of just over $15,000 does not allow for this and would require the person to live in government funded Section 8 housing and take public transportation everyday. Minimum wage in New Jersey must be increased substantially from the current $7.25 an hour.
